Provisional Cast-On
Make a slip stitch and insert crochet hook. Holding crochet hook in one hand and knitting needle in the other, *bring working yarn behind knitting needle and with hook, reach over top of knitting needle and crochet a chain stitch thus wrapping working yarn around knitting needle; rep from * until the desired number of cast on sts, chain a few more sts in the regular manner. Cut tail and pull it through last stitch.
